Logitech quickcam messenger

Quando collego la mia webcam (logitech quickcam messenger su ubuntu 7.04) questa mi viene riconosciuta: se do da shell lsusb

Quando però vado a provare la cam su amsn 0.97b la qualità del video che mando è veramente pessima, mentre la qualità del video che ricevo dagli altri è buona come su windows

Buonasera.

So bene che l'argomento è largamente trattato all'interno del forum e del web in generale, ho provato più e più volte a far andare la mia logitech quickcam messenger su Ubuntu Feisty provando varie guide, ma non sono arrivato a risultati soddisfacenti.

Nel mio computer è installata una scheda PINNACLE PCTV STEREO rilevata in automatico, sia Camorama (in realtà camorama oggi fa le bizze e manda in output un'immagine random del browser web tutta pasticciata) che aMsn che altri programmi mi mandano in output il segnale della scheda TV.

Evidentemente, nonostante le mie prove, le varie installazioni non sono andate a buon fine come si può vedere dal lsusb:

Che vede un dispositivo Logitech ma non sa che roba è.

Non escludo, nonostante i vari tentativi, di aver commesso errori nell'istallazione, però cmq il problema persiste...

Qualcuno mi può indicare un percorso CHIARO e COMPLETO per provare un'altra volta ad installarla, oppure ha qualche idea su una possibile soluzione del problema?

P.s.
aMsn rileva SOLO la scheda tv. Easycam2 si blocca durante l'installazione con un errore che ora non so definire meglio.

su amsn funziona il video ma non l'audio ...come faccio a controllare se funziona anche su altri programmi?e x l'audio??? cioè il microfono?
